My friend Mel Wurth and I image often together and some of the results are
presented on the following pages.
All Planetary pictures were taken with a Meade 12" LX200GPS and a Phillips ToUCam Pro
740K
webcam.
Most Deep Sky and Messier photos imaged using Mel's Cannon Digital Rebel
300D. Also a SC1 modified Phillips ToUCam 740K webcam.
We are getting better but have a long way to go.

- The winter of 2005 has been difficult at the Observatory. The 12"
LX200GPS has been out of commission and I have not been able to image due to
weather and telescope issues. However, Mel and I started imaging again this
month at his house with his 10" F/4 SN and the 300D camera. I am adding a
new page to the gallery for deep sky images. These images

- Mel Wurth has purchased a Canon Digital Rebel 300D camera. This camera is a
standard SLR used for normal everyday daylight photographs. However, for
astronomical use this is considered a large format digital camera. With the
modified webcams that Mel and I have been using in the observatory on my
telescope and his Meade 10" SN reflector at F/4 we have been getting fairly good
pictures. Now with the new Canon camera we are able to take pictures of the
larger objects. Our first picture is of M33,
a galaxy that is just to large to fit on the smaller CCD chip found in the web
cameras.

- Continue taking pictures with 12" LX200GPS have added a Meade wedge to the
observatory so I can take longer pictures without field rotation. Have added a
Moon page to the gallery. It has been a hot summer!

- Made long 1,333 mile road trip with equipment in tow to Lorain, Ohio and
watched/imaged the transit of Venus with the
Black River
Astronomical Society. DG and the gang were terrific hosts and treated myself
to breakfast at Denny's after the event. Please visit the
Venus Transit page often as I will continue working on the images captured
and post to the page.
